ART Classes

ART LESSONS for YOUTH 8 yrs. & Up: New and continuing students will learn to draw and/or paint “the world around them” through still life, landscape, outdoor sketching, animals, and portraits. Media explored is drawing, colored pencil, and watercolor painting. Materials: #2 pencil, eraser, spiral sketchbook (approx. 9 x 12”), watercolor set (Prang/Crayola – no neon), watercolor pad optional, but desirable.
DRAWING PLUS COLOR for 5-8 years: Students are introduced to drawing plus color with watercolor, mixed media, in still life, cartoons, animals, landscapes, people, etc.  Materials: 8’x 10” sketchbook, pencil, crayons, watercolor set (prang/crayola), glue, magazine, foam tray.  
ART WORKSHOP for TEENS/ADULTS: New & Continuing students! Art lessons are geared to individual needs to develop drawing, watercolor skills and college protfolio. Materials: Consult with instructor. 

CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING (SUMI-E) for TEENS/ADULTS: No experience needed! New and continuing students will learn the basic brush strokes to complete at least two paintings from bamboo, orchid, plum blossom, fish or animals with ink on rice paper. Materials: White ceramic plate, felt (20 x 20”), Chinese black ink, rice paper. Consult with instructor on brushes.
